In the wake of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, most kingdoms in the known world are wrestling with the question, "Do we press pause on our game or do we call an audible and try to convert our game to some type of virtual existence, even if only for the time being?"
Like it or not, as an organization that is dependent on social gathering (events), the pause button has been pressed for us. We have the opportunity to take a strategic look at where our organization is going to be in the future. It is time to ask ourselves some big questions that we may have avoided talking about in the past. Time to question our calendars:
Time to question our event offerings: Kingdom events take priority on kingdom calendars for the business that is conveyed at those events. Peerage meetings, coronations, crown lysts, tournaments, championships.
Time to question policies and procedures: Kingdom law and officer's handbooks largely parcel out the specifics from the rules of our game: Corpora. But, have you actually read Corpora and your kingdom law? Now, is a good time to have a look. This is a good time to exercise the spirit of our community to encourage discussion and civil debate while we have the opportunity to determine how we are to proceed. Thoughts to consider.... now, go wash your hands and don't forget to wear your mask.
